Dr. Michal Balberg is a Senior Lecturer at HIT’s Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. An expert in tissue optics with a focus on brain monitoring, she previously served as cofounder & CTO at the biomedical company Ornim Medical Ltd – where she coinvented the main product, a cerebral blood-flow monitor, and led it from initial idea to commercialization, including FDA and CE approvals. With a PhD in Neural Computation and a BSc in Physics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Dr. Balberg was a Beckman postdoctoral fellow at the Beckman Institute at the University of Illinois. She holds more than 15 patents and patent applications and has authored 20 publications on optical technologies and medical devices.
