Minimizing the power consumption of AI chips
Organic photonic AI platform

About artificial neural networks

Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), emulating the structure and functionality of the human brain, are the heart of the AI Revolution. However, while enabling technologies that were almost inconceivable only a decade ago, such as Large Language Models (LLMs), these networks still have some major drawbacks: they require enormous amounts of data and computing power. Consequently, existing systems are costly, require very large hardware installations, and generate a great deal of heat.

Our innovation

Our research at HIT addresses the global challenge of ANN from a novel angle: AI platforms based on chips and circuits made of organic materials. Designed to minimize the cost and energy consumption of the ANN deployed on them, these chips can significantly expand the use of advanced AI applications – enabling their installation on wearable devices for medical applications and other functions, or at a larger scale in data centers.
