HEAL – HealthcarE Analytics Lab

HEAL – HealthcarE Analytics Lab

HIT leads the Digital Medicine ecosystem in Israel, with the first-of-its-kind Digital Medical Technologies Department, its innovative academic programs and its five state-of-the-art research laboratories. Prominent among them is HEAL, the HealthcarE Analytics Lab – Israel’s first academic virtual Research Room, facilitating effective collaboration among researchers from various healthcare organizations in a completely secure environment.

HEAL collects, optimizes, and analyzes vast amounts of medical data from many different sources, to develop AI-based predictive models for multiple diseases and complications. To this end the Lab employs a range of cutting-edge technologies: Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Image Analysis, Signal Analysis (ECG, EEG, EMG, sensors, IoMT etc.), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Bioinformatics (including genetic analysis), and epidemiological research methodologies.

Below is a sample of innovative projects and predictive models developed by HIT researchers at the HEAL Lab:

Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD)

identifying risk factors or early signs of NAFLD, as well as a screening program for at-risk populations.
